NYCU Law prepares students with the knowledge and skills necessary for legal practice, industry, and academia. Therefore, students are required to complete all required coursework and a dissertation. The degree requirements are different for students with and without a background in law. Generally, for students with a law background, students can directly choose to study advanced law courses from the six fields of study. For students with a non-law background, students must finish fundamental law courses, which usually occupy the first year of their study, taking advanced law courses from the six fields simultaneously. A thesis or dissertation is required for all students, and the minimum requirements differ for students pursuing a master or doctoral degree.
