A History of NYCU Law

Since its establishment, our school has gradually become one of the main research and education centers for intellectual property and technology law in Taiwan.

Intellectual Property Management Program
The origins of NYCU Law trace back to 1993 when it was first known as the Intellectual Property Management Program at National Chiao Tung University.

Institute of Technology Law
The Intellectual Property Management Program was then transformed into the Institute of Technology Law (“ITL”) in 2000.

National Chiao Tung University School of Law
The ITL was transformed into the National Chiao Tung University School of Law in 2015.

National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University School of Law
In February 2021, because of the combination of National Yang-Ming University and National Chiao Tung University, the National Chiao Tung University School of Law was renamed the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University School of Law.
