Moot Court

NYCU Law has educated successful legal professionals in the private sectors, public service, and academic institutions. Lots of these inspiring stories can be traced back to their participation in moot court competitions during their study at NYCU Law. Through moot court competitions, we provide students with intensive training in written submissions and oral arguments which later translate into practical skills and academic knowledge necessary for their successful careers upon graduation.

NYCU Law has a very good reputation for its moot court teams. Our students have achieved great success in international moot court competitions and demonstrated excellent international competitiveness. Since 2007, we have participated in the WTO Moot Court Competition hosted by the European Law Student Association. In 2016, our team not only won  second place at the WTO International Moot Court Competition-East Asia Regional Round, but the team eventually advanced to the top eight globally in the final round held in Geneva. Additionally, two team members were awarded  best oralists in the regional round.

In parallel, NYCU Law has actively participated in Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. In 2015, we were the Eighth Finalist in the Competition for Best Oral Team and ascended to the top 16 globally, the same rank as Harvard and Yale, and remains to be the best achievement for any Taiwanese team in history.

NYCU Law has participated in the ADR Mooting Competition and had won the Best Memorandum for Claimant and the Best Memorandum for two consecutive years in 2015 and 2016.
